What Makes Us Special?

What makes us special, our special gift and our special curse is that we have the power of choice, we can choose, we can write our own future, we don’t have to be passive in the face of the horrors that we confront in the world today. And what I see waking up all around the world is indeed the birth of a new human consciousness. I do think we live at the beginning of a new epoch. I am actually enormously optimistic for the future, not pessimistic at all. I think we do live in a dark time, we do stand on the edge of an abyss but we don’t have to step over it and we can put the lights back on. Many of us confronted by the wickedness and cruelty of the world feel powerless as to what we can do, what can I as a single individual do to change anything of all of those gigantic horrors out there? It’s true as an individual its difficult to change big structures but you know what’s not difficult as an individual and that’s the decisions and the choices you make about your own life. There we are powerful indeed, there we may choose one path or the other. We may choose to live for love if we want to, its up to us and that’s what I think is most missing from the world, not a shortage of oil, not a shortage of water, not a shortage of money or any natural resource, it’s a shortage of love, that’s what is missing in the world and that’s what each one of us have the sovereignty in our own lives to make the right choice to do, to live with love and loving is giving and to make our own little sphere a better place tomorrow than it was yesterday and if every one of us does that and makes those choices and wakens up to the sacred gift we have been given to live on this planet then I think the future will be bright indeed’.
